Approach
text:
I strive, in photographing weddings, to capture images that go beyond professionalism,
elegance and fun, to become personal.
Photos that make you say, with delighted recognition, "that's so....her!
(or him)!"
Years of experience have taught me to observe unobtrusively, to move
discreetly, and to record empathically. I try to combine sensitivity and respect
with a sense of joy and celebration. While flowing spontaneously in the moment,
I am mindful of the place in a family's history of the images I am making.
Background Text:
Is David Garten a wedding photographer who freelances as a
photojournalist or a photojournalist who moonlights as a wedding
photographer? Either way you look at it, you, the wedding
photography client, benefit.
To every wedding David brings over ten years experience
shooting weddings as well as his photojournalist track record
of publication in the New York Times, CBS TV 60 Minutes II,
and on Grammy-nominated compact discs of Cuban music.
David intuitively follows the flow of relationships and emotion
throughout the wedding event. The result is a sensitive and
nuanced visual record of the many facets of what makes your
wedding unique.
David is also a master printer with twenty years custom lab
experience. All black & white processing, as well as all
enlargements, both black & white and color, are made by
David at his in-house custom lab.
